Jack's Laws Of Life

18. If you are in a long lasting relationship with your partner, don’t go to bars with single friends if they want to meet people.

19. If you are going out for a night, switch bars half way through. When your evening starts you are not yet in a party mode. This will develop as you drink a few beers and dance a little. This is what the first bar is for. Because you have been standing there for a while you will have seen everybody and everybody has seen you. This is a killer for spontaneous conversation. If you switch bars, you enter the second bar in party mode. Ready to rock everybody you meet.

20. There are two types of drinkers. Sprinters and marathon runners. Sprinters drink fast at the start of the evening and subsequently collapse. A marathon runner keeps a steady pace throughout the evening. These two do not mix well in a bar. The sprinter gets bored in the beginning waiting for the marathon runner. The marathon runner feels pushed at the start of the evening. Later in the evening the marathon runner gets bored.

21. Do not ever make a joke to a customs official. There is some international selection criteria for customs officials stating that they must under no circumstances show any signs towards a sense of humour. They also seem to have a devote quest for the destruction of al humour. As they tend to severely (and disproportionally) punish any attempt at humour in their presence.

22. Do not pee outside if it’s below -5 degrees Celsius.
